Steering Leadership Team

Co-op Team

Membership is by invitation only by Steering Team. The Co-op team recruits teachers, initiates contracts, and schedules co-op classes according to the needs of CHEER membership and the availability of reputable teachers. The building contract for use of a facility is secured, schedule of classes and helper mom slots are created, and guidelines enforced to ensure safety issues are maintained. Disciplinary policies are communicated to assist teachers in maintaining their classrooms. Communication between co-op information and families involved in co-op classes is ensured through emails. A process for co-op sign ups is developed and implemented as well as the system to collect building fees, teacher fees, and any additional fees. Communication is maintained with team members, teachers, students and their families, and church officials. An inventory is kept and communicated of science equipment available for members to check out; the checkout/return process is maintained by the co-op team. Pictures will be submitted for the yearbook.

 

 

Elementary Team (Kindergarten - 5th grade)

The Elementary team is responsible for providing opportunities for elementary-age children (5-11) to interact and learn together. The team is responsible to plan activities such as game days, library share day, park day and any other activities to help foster interacting among elementary children in CHEER. One family event per year may be planned as well as providing support to those new to homeschooling in the elementary age range. Note that younger siblings under 5 are welcome to attend if no specified-on age is mentioned. Service projects will be planned and coordinated with the middle school and high school teams to prevent overlap. This team will also work with the Early Elementary Team on larger events and work together on planning larger events. This team is responsible for sending out reminders of their team’s events and deadlines via blind copy emails to elementary membership and group me, posting events on the CHEER website calendar. The team needs to designate a mom, or several moms to be the Yearbook Liaison and take pictures of events and send to the Yearbook Team.

 

 

Family Events Team

The Family Events Team will be responsible in preparing and organizing two family events in the year. Team members work with Team leader and help with the following: planning, set up, take down, finding a location for events, and sending out sign up genius for food and supplies needed. The purpose of this team is to provide opportunities for CHEER families to gather in Christian fellowship. CHEER will provide some money to help cover the cost of potential locations if the place selected is not free. See Steering leadership on the amount. The team needs to designate a mom, or several moms to be the Yearbook Liaison and take pictures of events and send them to the Yearbook Team.

 

 

Graduation Team

The Team leader will organize regular meetings and follow the graduation handbook for monthly preparations. The team will be responsible for participating in the meetings, and to carry out necessary jobs to have a successful graduation ceremony in May. The team will vote on mandatory monthly meeting dates at the first meeting held in September. This team will also be responsible for planning senior events and service projects throughout the year. The Team leader will help remind grad. Parents to submit senior pictures for the senior pages, and senior activities pages. The team leader, or another grad. team member needs to be the Yearbook liaison and submit pictures to the Yearbook Team from the graduation families.

 

 

High School Activities Team (9th - 12th grade) 

The High School Activities team is responsible for providing opportunities for high school students to interact and develop friendships. The team will plan activities such as game nights, theme parties, and several service projects each semester to help promote an outlook of serving in our community while fostering relationships among CHEER high school students. Activities may also be planned separately for boys and girls. Service projects will be planned and coordinated with the elementary school and middle school teams to prevent overlap. The service projects will include service projects being organized that allow the CHEER teens to serve in our community. This team is responsible for sending out reminders of their team’s events on CHEER’s website calendar and on Group Me, typically done by the Team Leader. One team member will need to distribute information on Teen Pact/Capitol Day in a timely manner for those in the group. There will also need to be a Yearbook Liaison to take pictures and/or send them into the Yearbook Team.

 

 

 

Meeting and Fellowship Planning Team

Meeting Planning and Fellowship Planning Team will work with Steering Leader on brainstorming and implementing ideas for meetings and fellowships. The team will meet early summer and put together the years master list of a variety of educational topics that help meet the group’s needs, consider guest speakers, mom panels, college and career night, or mom panel, as well as sessions for other school ages, provide encouragement and fellowship (Mom’s meeting are August, October, February, and April. Ladies’ fellowships are September, March, and May field day.) This team needs to be able to attend at least half of the meetings, or fellowships, depending on the size of the team, in the year since this team prepares for the whole group.

One team member set up a schedule for CHEER teams on a rotating basis to help with the team for set up and take down and send them an email with their month to help during the school year.

One team member to set up a spreadsheet of needed areas to serve on each month.

One team member put together the name tags for the year, a printable sign in sheet, and keep name tags current.

One team member set up a snack and refreshment spreadsheet for the team for meetings and oversee.

Team members help in various ways- welcoming visitors and members, help with decorating, set up, snacks, and clean up.

 

 

Middle School Team – (6-8th)

The Middle School team is designed to plan, host, and help in middle school events. In addition to working with the Elem. Team leader and potentially the High School Team leader on service projects and other events that can be done together if appropriate, or plan service projects for just Middle Schoolers. The team leader is responsible for planning activities and delegating to team on serving in events like game nights, theme parties, service projects, educational events, or any activity that would promote interaction among MS aged students in CHEER. If able, the MS Team leader will have the team plan boy only and girl only events to promote friendships in smaller groups. This team is responsible for sending out reminders on Group Me and placing events on the CHEER calendar, typically done by the Team Leader. There needs to be a mom who will be the Yearbook Liaison and take pictures or get pictures to the Yearbook Team.

 

 

Preschool-Early Elementary Playgroups Team- (toddlers- 2nd Grade)

This Team is to provide opportunities for younger kids to connect in playgroups, park days and outdoor activities. This team’s main job is to help families and younger kids connect in play and laid-back events and activities. The team may provide educational events and parties on a smaller scale for this age group. This team will work with the Elementary Team Leader when parties and help with the younger kids’ events when combined There needs to be a mom to be the Yearbook Liaison for this team and take pictures, and/or send in pictures to the Yearbook Team.

 

 

Website Team

This team is by invitation only and inquire to team leader. This team has multiple functioning aspects to ensure our website is always up to date and provides current information for CHEER members. Duties of team are:

CHEER website Admin.

Co-op website Admin

Teacher Liaison

Payment Coordinator

Social Media Coordinator

 

 

Yearbook Team

The yearbook team is responsible for creating, organizing, collecting photographs for, and distributing the yearly CHEER yearbook. The yearbook team consists of the yearbook class, the photography class, team liaisons, and any mom that would like to contribute to the creation of yearbook. High school students enrolled in the yearbook class will work under the supervision of the teacher to organize and create pages, as well as market and distribute the yearbook.  The team liaison mentioned above will be a member from other teams (Early Preschool-Elementary team, Elem, MS, HS, Membership, Family Events, and co-op team member) who will be responsible in taking pictures (or assigning someone to take pictures) to ensure each group is well represented in the yearbook. Together with the photography class, individual student pictures will be coordinated by this team. The team’s lead mom is responsible for sending out reminders of their team’s events and deadlines via CHEER website email, as well as posting this information on group me.
